Taylor Richardson
Director of STEM Education

Taylor Richardson is a junior at The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida. After being inspired by reading a book about Dr. Mae Jemison when I was in 2nd grade, I have been working towards my goals to become a doctor, scientist , and one of the first Black women to go to Mars. In the past 8 years, I have donated over 10,000 books as part of my Taylor’s Take Flight with a Book initiative. I have raised over $30,000 dollars through crowdfunding to donate books, school supplies, feminine hygiene supplies, food, and clothing to Black girls in America as well as Ghana so they can overcome any external barriers to getting an education. I raised over $150,000 dollars to host screenings of Hidden Figures and A Wrinkle in Time in order for kids to see Black women who are role models and leaders in STEM. I have also been doing public speaking in the US and internationally. The legacy I want to leave is to bring a sisterhood of warriors with me all the way to the stars by disrupting the status quo where Black girls like me have equal representation at the table.
